Mysingur Whey Spread | MS · 250g

Sweet whey cheese, brown and caramel-dark. Iceland's oldest spread.

Made from whey boiled down until the milk sugars caramelise, mysingur is sweet, faintly tangy, and closer to caramel than to any cheese most people have met. It goes onto rye bread, flatkökur and toast, and it is one of the last everyday survivors of Iceland's old dairy tradition, the same tradition that produced skyr. Icelanders raised on it consider it breakfast. Everyone else takes one spoonful and reconsiders what cheese can be. 250g tub.
