Blóðmör | Icelandic Blood Sausage, SS · 460g

Icelandic blood sausage. Older than the country itself.

Blóðmör is lamb's blood mixed with rye, oats, and suet, packed into sheep's stomach lining and boiled. It predates Iceland's parliament and the sagas, and it has been on every Þorrablót table since before Þorrablót had a name. The taste is rich, earthy, faintly sweet from the grain, and nothing like British black pudding or French boudin noir. Slice cold or warm in a pan; eat with butter or potatoes. 460g, keep refrigerated.
