Saltverk blends its geothermally produced Icelandic flake salt with activated charcoal, which turns the flakes lava-black without adding a flavour of its own. What it does instead is round the edges, making a softer, less bitter salt than plain flake. The contrast against pale food is the reason chefs reach for it, so treat it as a finishing salt rather than a cooking one. Also good on a cocktail rim. 90g.
